When the second generation BRZ will be revealed

  The world has loved the first generation of the small Japanese sports car since its debut in 2012. Along with its sibling, Toyota's GT86, it has come to offer a more affordable, driver-centric proposition in the small sports car market. They carried only the rudimentary electronic aids, were lightweight, fitted with a limited-slip differential, a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 2-litre, 200bhp, atmospheric boxer engine. And of course, rear-wheel drive!

Οι 200 ίπποι του δίλιτρου flat 4, ήταν κάπως, λίγοι. Όχι για να “παίξεις”, αλλά για… την εποχή, όπου έχουμε μέχρι και άνω των 400 ίππων από δίλιτρο…

  In its second generation, which is expected to be launched in the next 2-3 months, along with its GT86 sibling again, the BRZ will get the change it so badly needed, more power, possibly from a turbo boxer engine. Rumours have it that the second generation BRZ will be fitted with Subaru's turbo, 2.4-litre boxer engine, which is speculated to produce 260bhp in the turbo version, or around 220bhp in the atmospheric version. Rumor also has it that buyers will be able to choose between a 6-speed manual transmission (most likely the one found in the current generation), or an automatic, which will be fitted to the BRZ.

 From the spy shots that exist so far, it's very likely that the new BRZ looks more like a facelift than a completely new design. Expect changes to the front and rear lights, a different grille at the front and a lip spoiler on the trunk.

 After many months of waiting and patience, we are now sure that we will see the second generation of the BRZ in the very near future, with a price expected to be around 30.000€.
