BMW Motorsport retires from Formula E after its 7th season

  

  After seven successful years , the BMW Group is ending its involvement in the Formula E World Championship at the end of the coming season. As a partner from day one , BMW has consistently supported the Formula E project and has played an important role in the success story of the institution. BMW has been
victories and podium finishes with the BMW i Andretti Motorsport team.The BMW Group has always used Formula E as a technological laboratory for production.

 

  The same engineers who develop the electrification systems for the
production models are also responsible for the drive systems of the racing cars
Indicative examples of successful technology transfer
from Formula E to the evolution of production systems are new findings
on energy management and energy efficiency , the transport
software for power electronics from racing to production cars and
an improvement in the power density of electric motors.

 

  With regard to the development of electric drive systems, the BMW Group
has exhausted the opportunities to transfer such technologies to the competitive environment of Formula E.

 

 

  In addition, the strategic direction of the BMW Group is shifting to the
Electrification In the future , greater emphasis will be placed on the integration of
development of the range and global production The BMW Group aims to
have one million electric vehicles on the road by the end of 2021.
The aim is to increase this number to seven million by 2030, with a target of
two-thirds of which will be all-electric.

 

  Starting its career as a factory team in season 5, BMW i Andretti
Motorsport has so far scored four wins , four pole positions and
nine podiums in its 24 races. Next season , the team will put its best foot forward
for as many successes as possible with the BMW iFE .21 and their drivers
