BMW Group & Tata Technologies : Collaboration focused on the development of Vehicle Software

The BMW Group and Tata Technologies, a global product design and digital services company, announced that they have signed an agreement to form a joint venture to establish a software and IT development hub with centres in Pune, Bangalore and Chennai, India. The main development and operational activities will be located in Bangalore and Pune. The Chennai centre will be engaged in enterprise IT solutions. The execution of the agreement to form the joint venture is subject to review and approval by the relevant authorities.

Ενσαρκώνοντας την κουλτούρα του «Engineer in India for the World», η  κοινοπραξία θα αξιοποιήσει την τεχνογνωσία της Tata Technologies στον τομέα της ψηφιακής μηχανικής (digital engineering) και τη δεξαμενή ταλέντων στην Ινδία για να συμβάλει στη στρατηγική επέκταση των δυνατοτήτων κωδικοποίησης λογισμικού του BMW Group σε παγκόσμιους κόμβους πληροφορικής και σε δραστηριότητες 24/7. Η κοινοπραξία θα επικεντρωθεί στη στρατηγική ανάπτυξη λογισμικού, συμπεριλαμβανομένων λύσεων για οχήματα που καθορίζονται από λογισμικό (Software-Defined Vehicles – SDV). Στον τομέα του λογισμικού οχημάτων, η έμφαση θα δοθεί στην αυτοματοποιημένη οδήγηση, την ψυχαγωγία και τις ψηφιακές υπηρεσίες. Στην επιχειρηματική πληροφορική, η κοινοπραξία θα εστιάσει στην ψηφιοποίηση και αυτοματοποίηση στους τομείς της ανάπτυξης προϊόντων, της παραγωγής και των πωλήσεων. Οι εργασίες της κοινοπραξίας θα ξεκινήσουν με 100 εκπαιδευμένους και έμπειρους επαγγελματίες της TATA Technologies, οι οποίοι  θα συνεισφέρουν άμεσα και ουσιαστικά σε project ανάπτυξης λογισμικού. Ο αριθμός των εργαζομένων είναι πιθανό να αυξηθεί σύντομα σε τετραψήφιο τα επόμενα χρόνια.
