Who owns each brand of car?

With FCA considering the spin-off of Maserati and the Alfa Romeo, as you read yesterday at TopSpeed.gr (here the related report), it will be interesting to see how the “χάρτης” της παγκόσμιας αυτοκινητοβιομηχανίας.

As we can see in the infographic he prepared, on behalf of TopSpeed.gr ο Vassilis Karikas of Antimoneum Design, the trend in the automotive industry is the concentration of several brands under the umbrella of conglomerates.

Twelve brands controlled by the German group of Daimler, eleven the also German Group of Volkswagen, the same number as the French partnership Renault-Nissan Alliance. Nine brands in the portfolio of the Italian-American FCA and seven the Chinese Geely.

The former US giant GM has just six chips, as many as the Toyota and five the French group PSA. One chip less, that is four in total, controls the Ford (έστω και αν στην Aston Martin διαθέτει πλέον ένα ελάχιστο ποσοστό, όσες και ο ινδικός  όμιλος Tata.

Three brands in the portfolio of the German BMW Groupas much as the South Korean Hyundai, while two chips are available in the Honda and Suzuki. For obvious reasons, we do not mention companies that go it alone, such as Mazda, or the Subaru.
