This is the new Mazda CX-90

On January 31, Mazda Operations North America, which oversees Mazda Motor Corporation's North American operations, unveiled the Mazda CX-90, the company's new mid-size crossover SUV.

The CX-90's design exudes dynamism and has its roots in Mazda's KODO design or the "Soul of Motion" design theme. The abstract "less is more" aesthetic creates a simplistic shape with dynamic and imposing proportions. All interiors express the Japanese aesthetic, incorporating the energy of light and natural materials into an elegant space.

Mazda plans to introduce four models to the global market from the Large Product Group1 by the end of 2023, as demand for SUVs is high. Following last year's launch of the CX-60, the CX-90 is the second model in Mazda's Large Product Group and offers significant advancements in environmental performance, safety and greater driving pleasure. The introduction of the CX-90 strengthens Mazda's SUV lineup, helping the company meet customer needs and the specifics of each market.

For the powertrain, Mazda will offer a new turbocharged 3.3-litre six-cylinder petrol engine, augmented by a mild 48-volt hybrid system, as well as a plug-in hybrid e-SKYACTIV PHEV system consisting of a 2.5-litre inline four-cylinder petrol engine.

Combined with AWD rear-brake architecture, the CX-90 delivers advanced environmental performance while accommodating the needs of the driver.

Mazda focused its attention on creating a comfortable environment for all occupants. The interior space has been enlarged around all seats. The third row is designed for three seats2 and is equipped with its own air conditioning vents. In addition, the CX-90's improved configuration enhances its towing capability, which combined with other amenities enhances its functionality, allowing the driver and passengers to enjoy the variety of settings and experiences the SUV offers while driving.

The existence of See-Through View, which is able to intuitively discern the information necessary for the operation of the vehicle, and a large driving display ensure safe operation of the vehicle and a feeling of peace of mind for the driver.

Moving forward to 2030, Mazda will continue research based on the company's people-centric philosophy to create even better conditions for driver satisfaction, ensuring an enjoyable daily life and a unique driving experience.
